After going through this chapter students will be able to learn

TYPE 1 Coordinate axes

1. X axis is horizontal line

2. Y axis is vertical lines.

TYPE 2 Origin :- The point of intersection

(0 ,0)

TYPE 3 Quadrants

Four quadrants Ist ( +,+) 2^nd ( - , +) 3^rd ( - , -) 4^th ( + , -)

Q. In which quadrant ( -5, 7 ) lies

TYPE 4 Abscissa , ordinate and coordinates.

Abscissa:- The x coordinate of a point

Ordinate:- Y coordinate of a point

Coordinate :- ( x, y) are called coordinate of the point
